Using scissors or garden shears, cut off all old straps as well as fasteners and remove them from the slots. Clean the piece well. If the furniture is in need of structural repair or painting, this is the time to do it.
Drill a hole above the slot using a 15/64" drill bit.
Use a tape measure and find the exact measurement from the outside top of the frame to the outside top of the frame and add 1".
Cut one strap off your roll of vinyl (Do not cut all the straps at once as you may want to adjust the strap length after seeing how the first strap fits around the frame).
Place straps inside the pot and wait 5 minutes before installing. We recommend wearing gloves to protect your hands; and when you are ready to start, use tongs (optional) to pick up each strap and install. Once the strap is out of the water, you have to install it right away; otherwise, it will cool down and harden.
Push the rivet into both strap holes (if you purchased precut strap with aluminum clip or grommet, they will already be inserted on both sides). Insert the rivet into the hole on one side of the chair frame and if necessary, use a hammer to tap it in.
Stretch and pull the strap over the opposite side of the chair frame by 3".
Insert the rivet into the hole to the right side of the chair frame and if necessary, use a hammer to tap it in.
